Marmoleum
Marmoleum is the brand name Forbo has given to their collection of linoleum floors. Naturally a timeless floor that has been used in residential and commercial interiors for many years.
Perhaps especially topical now because of its environmentally friendly nature. Linoleum floors are completely CO2 neutral and therefore do not contribute to climate change. In fact, it can be said to be the most CO2 neutral floor in the world.
Available in many colours and designs, it can safely be said that these are simply beautiful and sleek floors!
Composition and processing
Marmoleum floors are made for 97% from renewable natural raw materials such as linseed oil, resin, wood flour and limestone. Of these raw materials, 43 % is recycled and fully biodegradable.
For the linoleum floors, we consciously chose Forbo's floors under the brand name "Marmoleum". Not only for the colours, designs and their many years of experience, but also for the company's green credentials. Forbo floors are made in factories that run on 100% green energy.
Marmoleum is traditionally supplied in rolls 2 metres wide. This means that the floors are laid in strips. You can opt for a very straight floor with the seams tightly pressed together, or a variant in which the seams are filled with a welding wire. The latter is often used in projects because the floors have to be delivered completely waterproof in connection with cleaning by schrop machines.
Click variants
There are also marmoleum click variants available in which the product is placed on a substrate that can be laid as tiles or strips as a click floor.
Traditional marmoleum floors in strips 200 cm wide and 2 to 2.5 mm thick must be glued down on a well-levelled floor. This means that in almost all cases levelling must be carried out unless another special underlay is installed.
Laying a marmoleum floor is the work of professionals who can not only lay the floor but also inform and advise you on the subfloor. Unsurprisingly, these floors can also be primed over underfloor heating.
Even in flats with a DB requirement of 10 DB, marmoleum floors can easily be laid using a special underlay.

Modern marmoleum floors are supplied ex-factory with a "Topshield" factory finish, This makes Marmoleum the best natural and durable flooring solution. Thanks to this Topshield pro finish layer, your floor is 3 times better protected against external influences.* Very good wear-resistance thanks to the thicker finish layer, the floor is even better protected against wear and tear and remains beautiful for longer.* Excellent stain resistance, your floor is more resistant to stains because spilt products cannot penetrate through to the base due to the finish layer.* Easy cleaning & maintenance. Your floor is ready for use immediately after installation and does not require any additional wax and/or polymer layers. Thanks to the extremely long lifetime of the finish layer, wax and polymer layers are a thing of the past.
Look and Feel
Are you looking for a marble look, concrete look in 200 width or do you prefer a click variant? In the Marmoleum collection, there is always something to suit your needs. Certainly for your concrete-look floor a great alternative to a cast floor and often indistinguishable from the real thing. But a floor that feels warm and comfortable!
If you want to play with colours or incorporate a special shape or logo in your floor, our stylists will be happy to advise you on the possibilities.
For the sleekest finish, we do recommend skirting later. Walls are never straight or equal and deviations may always be visible when laying the floor against the walls.
